Argonne National Laboratory is a federally funded research and development center in Lemont, Illinois, United States. Founded in 1946, the laboratory is owned by the United States Department of Energy and administered by UChicago Argonne LLC of the University of Chicago.

Since 2008, Pizzo & Associates has been the vendor of choice Argonne’s natural area stewardship. Starting with an initial clearing through hand and forestry mowing to help with the restoration and transitioning into a combination of both clearing and prescribed fire to help with invasive species and encourage more plant growth when the growing season returns. Supplemental planting of native plants was done throughout the corporate campus. With each year, the native wildflowers continue to become fuller making it a gorgeous outdoor space.
The corporate campus to open to the public on weekdays with pre-authorization needed. Once on-site, you can see the natural beauty of the land and intentional outdoor features to encourage both an active culture and help with sustainability practices.
