Fairfax Commons Silvercrest in Bartlett, IL is a well‑established townhouse and condo community offering a blend of comfort, convenience, and community appeal. Nestled north of Schick Road and west of County Farm Road in Bartlett. Bartlett is a town invested in nature and outdoor spaces. The Bartlett Park District operates over 40 parks, nature areas, aquatic centers, and golf courses which include Hawk Hollow, Mallard Lake, and James “Pate” Philip State Park — ideal for hiking, biking, fishing, and birdwatching. To continue with this theme, the HOA wanted to give their stormwater basins a more natural look while keeping the area easier to manage.
Pizzo Habitat Restoration has been helping the Fairfax Commons Silvercrest HOA since 2023 with natural area stewardship. In addition to hand weeding and controlling invasive species, prescribed fire is used in the winter months to add extra time to next growing season as well as helping increase the density of the wildflowers. Fire is a common tool for ecological goals and is something we recommend for many landowners. Making sure the natural areas are performing at their best while getting a jumpstart on the following growing season.
The successful shoreline restoration has transformed the community basin into a vibrant, healthy, and engaging natural space that supports wildlife, enhances the quality of life for residents, and fosters community spirit.
