Lincoln Station HOA is a homeowners association located in Oswego, Illinois. The community is located in Kendall County which is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, from 2000 to 2010, Kendall County experienced a population increase of over 110%, making it the fastest-growing county in Illinois and among the top in the nation during that period (HOA Resource).
Kendall County is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, offering a suburban lifestyle with proximity to the city. The county has seen significant residential development and an increase in amenities, attracting families and businesses alike. Within the homeowner community, there are basins and common areas that the HOA needed help managing. Pizzo & Associates was hired to provide on-going stewardship to help the natural areas thrive.
Pizzo & Associates has been helping Lincoln Station HOA for several years with natural area stewardship. In addition to hand weeding and controlling invasive species, prescribed fire is used in the winter months to add extra time to next growing season as well as helping increase the density of the wildflowers. Fire is a common tool for ecological goals and is something we recommend for many landowners. We also use enhancement seeding to improve select areas when needed that we identify through our on-going monitoring and reporting. Making sure the natural areas are performing at their best.
