Pizzo & Associates will restore and maintain a balanced and thriving ecosystem at Three Oaks Farm in Michigan. By controlling invasive and non-native vegetation the land will regain capacities to germinate patient seeds already in the soil as well as accept new seed, collected and offered by our team. The native growth will automatically enhance soil fertility and provide quality habitat for pollinators and wildlife alike.
Our team implemented a multi-faceted approach to managing invasive and non-native species. Hand pulling, machine assistance and the application of appropriate herbicides allowed us to reduce or eliminate the presence of undesirable plants on the land. The native’s took advantage of the competitive release created by this timely clearing, stretching out to claim rightful space. Pizzo & Associates responsibly gathered seed from potent clusters and returned it to the land in open areas.
Three Oaks Farm land now humbly presents a flourishing prairie, energetic and rich with restored native life. Trails cradled throughout the prairie lead to a spirited woodland. The restoration has cultivated support for a diverse array of native plant and animal species, fostering a potent ecosystem for wildlife to thrive.
